About Us

The Veerashaiva Samaja of North America (VSNA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 by Asian Indian immigrants in the USA and Canada. It operates as a spiritual organization under IRS regulations 501(c)(3) with the Federal Tax ID 51-0245255. The primary focus of VSNA is preserving, protecting, and propagating the way of life depicted by Basaveshwara and his contemporaries.

The VSNA Seattle, WA Chapter embraces the timeless “Basava Tattva” philosophy, grounded in the guiding principles of Kayaka (selfless service) and Dasoha (compassionate giving). Inspired by the profound teachings of Vachana Sahitya, the chapter upholds the values of equality, unity, spirituality, and peaceful coexistence. With a strong commitment to community engagement and service, the Seattle chapter actively works to preserve, promote, and pass on these enduring ideals, fostering a sense of purpose and togetherness for present and future generations.
